Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 5, 2026

The short version: surge15 runs entirely on your phone. The only data it uses is GPS, and it stays on your device — with one exception you control. If you tap Share to send a route to someone, that route is uploaded so they can download it with a code. Even then, it's never linked to you: no account, no name, no device or network identifiers. There is no account to create, and nothing is ever sent automatically.

surge15 is built so that your data is simply never ours to mishandle. This policy explains exactly what that means.

No account, ever

surge15 does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide a name, email address, or any other personal detail. You download the app and start training. There is no profile to set up and nothing to log in to.

GPS is the only data we use

To measure your running loops and laps, surge15 reads your device's GPS location while you record a run. That is the only category of data the app uses. It is used solely to draw your route, measure distance, and time your laps on your device, in the moment.

Everything stays on your phone

Your routes, sessions, lap times, workout plans, and GPS traces are stored locally on your device. In normal use none of it is uploaded, synced to a server, backed up to us, or transmitted off your phone. The one exception is the optional route-sharing feature described below: if — and only if — you explicitly tap Share, the route you selected is uploaded so someone else can download it. Nothing else is ever sent, and nothing is sent automatically.

Route sharing (optional)

If you choose to share a route using the share feature, the route's GPS coordinates are uploaded to our servers and stored so another user can download it using a share code. This upload only happens when you explicitly tap Share — no data is sent automatically. Shared routes are not linked to your identity: we store no account information, device identifiers, or IP addresses alongside them. A share code stops working 48 hours after it is created, after which the route can no longer be downloaded. The uploaded route data itself has no personal information attached and remains in our database until it is manually removed.

Never correlated to you

Aside from a route you deliberately share, nothing leaves your device, so we have nothing to store. And even a shared route carries no identity: we store no account information, device identifiers, or IP addresses alongside it, so we have no way to associate it with you or anyone else. We do not build profiles, we do not track you across sessions or apps, and we do not sell or share your information.

Works offline

Apart from your device acquiring a GPS signal, surge15 does not need an internet connection to function. You can create routes, record sessions, and review your history with no connection at all.

You're always in control

Because your data lives only on your phone, you can remove it at any time by deleting it within the app or uninstalling surge15. When you do, it is gone — there are no copies held anywhere else.
